Ithingy

I wrote an original song all about my ipod touch, and how I want an Ipad. The host of appytimes, the podcast calls the ipod the Ithingy. I had too.

Ithingy
inspired by Tim Morris of Appy Times Podcast

Years ago on my happy bday
my family and friends you see
they bought me a 32 gig
black shiny ithingy

It stored all my music and some video
looked slick and made me smile
downloaded podcasts, pictures and more
Had it with me all the while

I got and Ithingy, I got an Ithingy, I got an Ithingy y’all
I got and Ithingy, I got an Ithingy, I got an Ithingy y’all

Ol Stevee Jobs, he just can’t quit
had to go and change it up much
redesigned my player with a flick of his wrist
and marketed us the Itouch

Now little icons floating on the screen
and apps coming out my ears
Got wifi, touch screen and more
put the earphone jack on the rear

I got and Ithingy, I got an Ithingy, I got an Ithingy y’all
I got and Ithingy, I got an Ithingy, I got an Ithingy y’all

Just when I thought I had seen it all
They come out with a cool new fad
The blew it up and increased the size
And are selling out of the IPAD

I want an Ithingy, I want an Ithingy, I want an Ithingy that’s Huge!!

Nanananananana!

Growing up Steve Austin (not the wrestler) was my hero. He was the Bionic Man! Oscar Goldman, Rudy Wells, Callhan, Jaimie Summers, the list goes on with the characters I came to know and love. So I wrote a song for it. Now, after you hear it, you can make the bionic sound for days on end. Nanananananaanana!

Nanananananana!
by Rick Moyer

We can rebuild him
make him better than before
Faster, Stronger Cooler
Bionic at his core
Steve Austin!

Two legs an arm and his eye
Steve Austin he’s the man
Oscar Goldman and Rudy wells
The OSI they have a plan
Say go Rudy

On a mission each week to save the world
six million dollars spent
Solving mysteries and saving lives
that’s where their money went.

Fem Bots, evil men, boxers and more
even a female trainee
Getting in a parachute accident
that’s where steve got his girl friend Jaimie

Jaimie, bustin up tennis balls, Jaimie, Sommers

Break it down Bionic style

Nanananananana!
I see you.
Steve Austin

So now bionic bigfoot
running in slow mo
Jumping up on buildings from high to low
Steve he’s the man, and I want to be like him
a human cyborg risking life and limb
a cool astronaut with secret set of powers
he’s a real life hero to save the hour

Gonna save the hour

come on peeps let’s do it.

nananananananana!
I see you.

Running at a rate of 60 miles per hour
savin’ all the ladies in their realy high towers
In a leisure suite with the big wide collars
when were’ in trouble what do we hollar?

Steve, ah Steve Austin…

No doubt in my mind Steve and Jaimie are the best
Provin’ every week as they overcome the odds they can pass the test
The folks I came to know and love the best cyborg program yet
Put the bionics all together and what do you get?

Nanananananana!
Go Jaimie

He’s the Goldman, He’s the Goldman,  Oscar!

What about Callahan?  Woop!

Get me my coffee.

He’s the six million dollar man, the six million dollar man.

The Caped Crusader

II have always thought that Batman was cool. He was the only super hero that I knew of that didn’t have powers. He used his head and his gadgets to catch the criminals. How cool is that? So here is my tribute to him. The Caped Crusader.

The Caped Crusader
by Rick Moyer

In Gotham City lives a foe of crime
Catchin all the criminals right on time
Dressed in black with some pointy ears
Fighting for the justice and calming our fears

Commisioner Gordon and his motely crew
Callin up the red phone askin what to do
Slidin down the big poll Bruce becomes a bat
Checkin’ on his gizmos where’s the action at?

Fire shoots out from the cool black car
knocking down the detours so they don’t know where they are
peelin out in gravel the man he makes his way
Fighting crime by night but a millionare by day

An ordinary guy makin all the right moves
pullin from his utility belt he knows just what to do
Fighting for justice he’s a real crime hater
It’s Batman!, our caped crusader
it’s Batman!, our caped crussader

The likes of Joker & Egghead see
Catwoman, Firefly Poisin Ivy
The riddler, two face, Harley Quinn
The Scarecrow, mr. freeze and the penguin

The dynamic duo that’s what Robin makes
fightin off the bad guys and doin what it takes
Batgirl’s cool with barbara on the bike
All the cool costumes that I really like

Biff!, wham!, zap! the henchman taken out
cleanin up the riff raff that’s what it’s all about
Conflicted on the inside but tough all around
Flyin on his cables doesn’t even make a sound

All the incarnations over years like that
different interpretations of the same old bat
Love him or hate him batman doesn’t lie
He’s the Dark Knight super hero and one cool guy.

Treks in sci fi Mash Up

I got to interview Rico for his podcast this week. So I thought I would give a shout out to a bunch of the regulars on the Treks in Sci Fi forum. Enjoy!

The Blue or the Red Pill

Rico covered the Matrix trilogy on Treks in Sci fi this week. Nathan, my son, and I decided to write a short industrial rave song called “The Blue or the Red Pill” Not many lyrics, but a lot of fun. Nathan did the keys, I did the mixing and vocals. It ended up being like 7 or 8 tracks of geeky goodness. Enjoy and let us know what you think of it!

The Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
by Rick Moyer

When I was just a boy
I heard that ABC
Was serving up some drama
In space that I could see

T’was bout a Battle Star
But not your normal stanza
Starring Loren Green,
Cartwright from Bonanza

So these Shiny metal bots
With a mission like machines
Were killing all the colonists
With a budgets never seen

Every week I’d watch
As the ships would turbo up
And laugh at Boxy’s moffit
The barking robot pup

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Those nasty little Cylons
Spouting by your command
Were killing all the humans
And taking all their land

They blew up all the Battle stars
With out a second thought
Only the Galactica
Would be the one they fought

So they forced the humans out
Into space they had to run
Putting all their ships together
Man that wasn’t fun

The characters all made me smile
Their wit and hero folly
Like Starbuck and Appollo
Cornel Tigh and good ol’ Jolly

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Adama and Athena,
They were always there
Then Sheeba, and boomer
Cassiopeia  so fare…

The Villians were so cool
With names like Lucifer
Boltar and his minions
And centurions for sure

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

I felt bad for Apollo
When Serena had to die
But later when the Pegasus
Sheeba caught his eye

Count Ebliee made me nervous
With his mental powers strong
But what about those chicks
With mouths that sang that song?

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

I thought it was over
When the bugs they set the tones
And when everyone was partying
They were eating honeycombs.

But our heroes made it out
Giving uniforms to greeters
Saving all their warriors
By faking all the leaders

The coolest part about the show
And they came from near and far
Were  the raiders and the Vipers
Base Stations and Battle Stars

The viper was the coolest
With a talking one to boot
Cora loved on starbuck
As he wore his darkened suit

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

The episodes I really liked
That stand right out for me
were red eye,  pig raiders
Starbucks Dad those three

Then the blowing up of base star
Was one I liked a lot
As they wobbled on their wings
Just so they would not  get shot

Really all the episodes
Were right in with the vibe
Watching every week
For the 13th tribe.

Pyramids and Castles too
Fighting and the mirth
All the while searching for the new
Home they called the EARTH

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

There’s series that came after
Not the one with Katee
The silly episodes
Galactica 1980

It didn’t last so long
Troy and Dillan disappeared
After all it was really funny
To see Adama in a beard.

Then there is the new one
On sci fi that’s for sure
But Starbuck is a woman
And it’s full of gripping fear

The cylons had a makeover
The CGI just rocks
Some of them look human
We learned that in their talks

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

So crack open some mbrosia
And raise your glass real high
Cause Battlestar Galactica
Really caught my eye

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Get into the gate

Get into the gate

Ten or so years ago a series was made for television that took sci fi to a new level. Startgate SG1 emerged as a great weekly dose of geekiness and humor. The chemistry between the characters was simply awesome. This song celebrates both SG1 and Atlantis, the spinoff. My friend Rob Scalise from Orlando Florida did the synth and drums, I played guitar and did all the vocals. We did a Skype call together and I sang what I was hearing, he graciously went to work in his studio and sent me the raw keyboard files and drums. Then I grabbed my guitar, fired up my mic and sang! The first version was recorded wrong and I had to redo the entire song in a higher file format. It was really fun working with Rob. Thanks Rico for reviewing Stargate. http://www.treksinscifi.com You rock man! Isn’t the Internet cool? ” Dial home Daniel!”

Get into the gate
A colobration between Rick Moyer and Rob Scalise
Keys, drums by Rob Vocals & Guitar Rick

Buried in the sand in an ancient land
the ring it sat for time on deep in the sand
Till it got dug up and powered on
And they hired Kurt Russell and Richard Dean Anderson

Ten years with a cast so fine,
the storlines kinda just blew our minds
Slidin through space in the Chapoi
they could go anywhere and didn’t have to fly

On Sg1 that cast was real cool,
With Daniel, Sam, Jack and Tealc too.
General Hammond with his belly so round,
Later with Mitchell and Valla they found

On a mission every week to see the galaxy
Fighting off the Gould and the Ori you see
Stationed in a mountain underneath Cheyenne
Saving the Earth was their goal and plan

The Sg1’s says  Tealc Yeah
We got Ronan, We got Ronan

The spinoff show got really trick
as we traveled up to the Antartic
To the Acients city of that Atlantis fair
The newer looking Gate was up in the air

Rodney, Sheppard, and Kaela too,
gotta check out the dreadlocks on the Ronan dude.
Fighting of the bugs they call the Wraith
Freakin on the replicators and wosleys’s great.

Freakasaurus!!

One of my favorite Voyager two parters is “Future’s End” – you know, with Starling, The mobile emitter, B sci fi movies, Goliath Gulps, Burritos, militia, it’s all hilarious! When I heard the Rico was coveing it I simply remembered Sarah Silverman calling Tuvok a “Freakasaurus” and thus, this song was born. Heheheh. Enjoy. Yo Yo, Sarah Silverman called you a Freakasaurus!!

Freakasaurus
Original song by Rick Moyer
recorded and sung by Rick Moyer

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Janeway confronted with a ship that’s out of time
As Voyager goes slippin through with no reason and no rhyme
Back to Earth they stumble with Chronaworx in flux
To meet a guy who steals the future just to make big bucks

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Tom and Tuvock split apart and visit the museum
As Sarah aka Silverman seems happy just to see him
Looking at the movie posters and watching at the sky
Reporting to a guy names Starling what a creepy guy.

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Back down at the waterfront Brax is old and crazy
Janeway and Chakoty waste no time at being lazy
They follow to the cardboard hut and listen to his ravings
He shows them all his calculations shoving through is savings.

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

The holographic doctor gets downloaded to his office
Starling starts to torture behavior like apophice
The little metal badge on his shoulder makes it bitter
The doctor can go outside with his mobile type emitter

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

If he tries to steal more secrets the universe will blow|
He can’t make it to the future of this anti matter show
So stop him they must do before it get’s to late
The future of the Federation could really be at stake

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Tom and Tuvock trying to macqiver a radio
Sitting at a picnic table with quite a ways to go
Goliath Gulps for breakfast as they plot to find the ship
Riding in a V double you she thinks the guys have flipped.

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Bellana and Chakoty try to use the shuttle craft
But crash land in the dessert man, it’s not a laugh
Militia throws them in the cellar and mocks them just like sin
And when the dr rescues them the bullets run right through him

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Freakasaurus Freakasaurus!

Finally the crew takes charge and they all save the day
As tom says bye to Sarah but she wants to stay and play
The timeline is restored and the ship is what it’s worth
But when they get back home they’re still miles from the Earth.

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

I was blown away by Battlestar Galactica as a kid. It was the most cool show ever. I watched every episode as many times as I could and I took my Montgomery Wards cassette recorder and recorded the audio, then listened to them went I went to bed. Yes, this was before the VCR. Man, what a cool show. So, this was my tribute to it. I used a synthesizer and my computer to record the music and do the vocals. I hope you enjoy. Word.
