The Caped Crusader

II have always thought that Batman was cool. He was the only super hero that I knew of that didn’t have powers. He used his head and his gadgets to catch the criminals. How cool is that? So here is my tribute to him. The Caped Crusader.

Catchin all the criminals right on time
Dressed in black with some pointy ears
Fighting for the justice and calming our fears
 
Commisioner Gordon and his motely crew
Callin up the red phone askin what to do
Slidin down the big poll Bruce becomes a bat
Checkin’ on his gizmos where’s the action at?
 
Fire shoots out from the cool black car
knocking down the detours so they don’t know where they are
peelin out in gravel the man he makes his way
Fighting crime by night but a millionare by day
 
An ordinary guy makin all the right moves
pullin from his utility belt he knows just what to do
Fighting for justice he’s a real crime hater
It’s Batman!, our caped crusader
it’s Batman!, our caped crussader
 
The likes of Joker & Egghead see
Catwoman, Firefly Poisin Ivy
The riddler, two face, Harley Quinn
The Scarecrow, mr. freeze and the penguin
 
The dynamic duo that’s what Robin makes
fightin off the bad guys and doin what it takes
Batgirl’s cool with barbara on the bike
All the cool costumes that I really like
 
Biff!, wham!, zap! the henchman taken out
cleanin up the riff raff that’s what it’s all about
Conflicted on the inside but tough all around
Flyin on his cables doesn’t even make a sound
 
All the incarnations over years like that
different interpretations of the same old bat
Love him or hate him batman doesn’t lie
He’s the Dark Knight super hero and one cool guy.

Qpid is one of my favorite TNG episodes. This is where Picard is dressed in Robin Hood clothes and has to rescue his love from the castle before she is married to Sir Guy. So I took the song “That thing you do” and wrote it from Picard’s point of view and thus “That thing with Q” was born. ENJOY!

One Republic’s song “Apologize” was given new strength because of Amercian Idol this season. As I was listening to the song Nathan and I came up with- “It’s too late to energize” So he urged me by writing most of the lyrics and getting me the soundtrack. Thus the new parody song was produced. I have an alternate version coming out on video called “it’s too late to eat these fries” – exploring cold french fries at McDonalds. Should be fun. Treks in sci fi Mash Up

The Blue or the Red Pill

Rico covered the Matrix trilogy on Treks in Sci fi this week. Nathan, my son, and I decided to write a short industrial rave song called “The Blue or the Red Pill” Not many lyrics, but a lot of fun. Nathan did the keys, I did the mixing and vocals. It ended up being like 7 or 8 tracks of geeky goodness. Enjoy and let us know what you think of it!

There is just something about Tommy Two tone that pulls on my rock n roll roots. When Rico talked about covering the Seven of Nine heavy episode of Voyager called Dark Frontier, I thought about doing something about Seven of Nine. For the 13th tribe.

Pyramids and Castles too
Fighting and the mirth
All the while searching for the new

Happy Anniversary Anomaly

I love listening to my friend Angela and Jen’s podcast called Anomaly! http://www.anomalypodcast.com They recently celebrated their one year anniversary on iTunes and two years as a podcast. New years eve 2008 I saw the Tink Tinks live and thought, what a strange song! Then after hearing all the complaining about the new Star Trek movie I wanted to scream “Shut up and let’s just go to the movie!” and thus, this song was born. I think the new movie is going to be great, but hey folks, just relax, more trek is good. Let’s just wait to see it before we freak out.
